013Eggs

posted by admin on March 19th, 2008

I just read “Story of the Eye” by Georges Bataille…And I cannot stop thinking about eggs.   And eyeballs.  Or balls in general.  Jelly filled dough nut holes are exciting, although they’re not really egg shaped.   I like the fragile yolk part of the egg best.  I’d like to see someone lay some eggs that I could squish with my feet.  When I was younger my neighbor used to have a chicken farm and she would bring us baskets of eggs.  They were so beautiful.  All different colors…Some where tan with dark rusty spots, some were a bluish gray, but none of them were that bleached synthetic white egg that you get at Jewel.  Or even the generic brown of the “farm fresh” eggs you can buy for a few more bucks.  I want someone to bring me fresh from then hen eggs in beautiful colors.  Oh!  And the yolks should be the color of freshly squeezed orange juice (another substance I’m quite fond of)

There’s a farm in central illinois that i frequent on my way back from springfield. They raise chickens which are so much more delicious than anything bought in a store. I surmise their eggs are as you’ve described. If they are I will bring you some .
